Located on the slopes of Mount Parnassos, overlooking the magical valley of Delphi is the famous traditional town of Arachova ( Arahova ). The village is actually spread over five hills, and is one that attracts a large number of visitors throughout the year - especially during the winter season when the Parnassos ski centre is in operation.

There are many winding small roads criss-crossing across the village, and taking a walk along these roads is an excellent way to view the town and to find some of the many hidden gems that are tucked away tightly from the main road.

You can find an excellent selection of cosy tavernas and cafe bars where you can enjoy a drink or a tasty, freshly prepared meal. Some of the tavernas and restaurants here in Arachova offer a wonderful selection of cuisine including some very tasty local specialities.

You will also find a selection of shops offering a varitey of ski and winter sportswear and equipment. Arachova is a very popular village during the winter months, where visitors from all over Greece and abroad come here to ski and do other winter sports.

Overlooking the village of Arachova is the church of Agios Georgios ( Saint George ). This patron saint is one that is extremely important to the village of Arachova, and each year there is a large festival that takes places, spread out over several days which is in honour of Saint George.

From the church you can enjoy some excellent panoramic views of the village and the valley of Delphi in the background. There is a path that leads up to the church from the main road of the village.

Arachova is an extremely beautiful and traditional town, and one that all visitors to Viotia and Mainland Greece should try and pay a visit to.
